What does an Observer do?

Observers complete assignments issued by the Department. Assignments concern ordinary Territory life — the light, the heat, the curlews, the roundabouts. Observations are filed in the Archive.

How long does an inspection take?

Long enough to form a considered opinion.

What is the Office of Laksa Conversation Monitoring?

The Office monitors conversation patterns at laksa establishments across the Darwin region. Activity levels have not dropped below Elevated since 2019. The Department has formed no conclusions.

Who is Karen?

Karen manages Data Integrity. She has been with the Department for some time. Her work is consistent and accurate.

What happened to Steve?

Steve's work with the Department concluded. The Department wishes him well in his subsequent endeavours and considers the matter closed.

Can I report an observation without being an appointed Observer?

The Department recommends completing the formal appointment process. Unsolicited observations are noted but cannot be filed in the Archive without a valid Observer ID.

Is there merchandise?

This matter is under consideration by the relevant directorate. The Department will advise in due course.
